AMARILLO -- Booking a room with a view of Polk Street soon will be possible, though the opening date of the Courtyard by Marriott at the Historic Fisk Building in downtown Amarillo has been pushed back.

Originally, Irving hotel developer Newcrest Hotels Ltd. hoped to have the Courtyard at 724 S. Polk St. in operation by the Dec. 3 Electric Light Parade sponsored by Center City of Amarillo. Delays will slide the opening a few weeks, said Robert DeShay of Newcrest.

DeShay chalks up the moving calendar to the experience of adapting a historic structure built in 1927. (full story)
