AMARILLO---The City of Amarillo will give Potter County more than 2 million dollars to help complete a project.
Nearly 2 and a quarter million dollars will be spent by the City to helpfinish Potter county courthouse.
Tuesday afternoon... City Commissioners voted to allocate Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone, orTIRZ money, to help with the landscaping around the courthouse.
"They just spent 12 million dollars on their courthouse..it would be nice to have the landscaping all together." said Amarillo City Commissioner Ron Boyd.
Commissioner Boyd tells NewsChannel 10, the completion of the Potter County courthouse is an integral part to the twenty year revitalization of downtown Amarillo.
Part of the money will also go towards giving parts of Polk Street a facelift. (full story)
